Exploration of material properties and digital technologies to transform physical surfaces.

Together with the MATERIABILITY RESEARCH GROUP at Anhalt University of Applied Sciencesand the AUDI AG we explored the transformation, manipulation and interaction of materials and their properties. The aim was to develop digital processes, like specific patterns for laser-cutting or 3D-printing, to manipulate, change or transform material properties like flexibility, strength, transparency, surface, etc.

• What patterns/structures result in what kind of material transformation?
• What sort of input/interaction causes the change/transformation?
• What might be potential applications ?
